Your Story
Perhaps you are grieving because someone you love has died. Maybe you are dealing with the losses associated with chronic illness or disability, or are struggling with anxiety and depression.
You might be feeling overcome by emotions. Grief comes in waves. You may feel incredibly lonely, and not sure how to respond.
It starts with you
I provide a safe space where you can share your unique story, without judgment. By exploring the way you do things, your values, and developing new coping strategies, I believe that positive change can occur.
I am a Mental Health Social Worker, a grief counsellor, and a Gestalt Psychotherapist. I come to the work from a place of lived experience.
Grief is often traumatic, causing flashbacks to distressing images. For those with chronic illness or disability, flashforwards also happen, where the thought of the future causes panic. I use a strategy called Depth Enquiry, which works along similar principles as Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) to assist at these times.
